Creating Connections - Rituals
Highlight: Zebras (Twos) - Moline
Children were outside and wanted to participate in the ritual “Round the Garden”. While children waited in line for their turn with Ms. Katrina, the children decided to do the ritual with each other rather than wait. The result is pure joy, cuteness, laughter and connection.
Round the Garden
“Round and round the garden
Goes the teddy bear
One step, two step
Tickle under there!”
Connection: Conscious Discipline Rituals are a playful means to promote optimal brain development, increase attention span, reduce hyperactivity, build self-esteem, amplify cooperation and facilitate language development. All of this occurs while strengthening the connection between peers and adults. Practicing the rituals over and over again is a fun way to deepen the impact the rituals have.
